Frequently Asked Questions
What is a TSA lock?
A TSA lock is a special type of lock that can be opened by Transportation Security Administration officers using a master key. This allows them to inspect your luggage without breaking the lock if your bag is selected for screening.
Can I use my own lock instead?
Yes, you can use your own lock, but we recommend using TSA-approved locks when traveling by air. Non-TSA locks may be cut off by security if your bag needs to be inspected.
What if TSA opens my lock?
If TSA opens your lock for inspection, they will leave a notice inside your luggage. This is normal and expected. Simply reset your combination and continue using your lock as normal.
How do I know if my lock is TSA-approved?
TSA-approved locks have a special red diamond logo on them. All ESTETICO luggage locks are TSA-approved and feature this logo.
